The authorities in Oman have prohibited the sale and import of devices equipped with hidden spy cameras — transactions that mostly take place on social networking sites. According to the Royal Oman Police’s (ROP) Customs Department, inspectors from the Department of Risk Assessment have seized a number of prohibited goods traded on these sites. The images released by Oman Customs show the presence of spy cameras in spectacles, pens, electric connectors, and radio transmitters/ receivers. The use and sale of spy cameras is regulated/ banned in many countries, including in the region, amid alleged reports of their misuse and security threats.
